AnnMarie Loutzenhiser - Bridesmaid
Angela met AnnMarie in 2010, their freshman year at Northern Michigan University. Fun facts: one of AnnMarie's goals is to visit and camp at all the US National Parks, and both Angela and AnnMarie play the clarinet! (Is she the dinosaur or the girl- come to the wedding and find out!)
Erin Poindexter - Bridesmaid
Angela met Erin in 2010, their (you guessed it) freshman year at Northern Michigan University. Fun facts: Erin lived in South Korea for 3 years, and she is an identical twin! And yes, her last name is legitimately Poindexter.
Emma Wolfe - Bridesmaid
Angela met Emma in 6th grade at Clarkston Middle School (surprised it wasn't 2010 at NMU?), where Emma was the new girl from Oklahoma. Fun facts: Emma has lived in 5 different states and Angela and Emma were roommates for their entire college careers (hence the absolute classic throwback photo)!
Suzanne Egan - Bridesmaid
Angela met Suzanne in 6th grade at Clarkston Middle School, another long-lasting friendship. Fun facts: Suzanne is a screenwriter and has authored some Lifetime-esque TV movies, and she lived in New York for many years (Angela visited several times)! How far back will these photos throw ... the limit does not exist (this one is circa summer 2010).
Samantha Mitchem - Bridesmaid
Angela met Sammi in 2010, their freshman year at Northern Michigan University (we're back, baby). Fun facts: Sammi is a 911 dispatcher in Minnesota, and she and Angela share a love for animals (she's the dog lady to Angela's cat lady)!
Michael Cononie - Best Man
Michael and Ryan met where all great friendships start - at opposite ends of an inflatable wrestling ring, donned in crusty sumo suits, in the backyard of a fraternity house. Phi Delta Theta's backyard in this case, a fraternity on their university campus where Michael was a current member. He and Ryan lived together for several years after graduation and he's become one of Ryan's closest friends. Fun fact about Michael - he's great at math, and home-brews the best beer and mead you'll ever have!
Jon-Alan Shrewsbery - Groomsman
JA and Ryan's friendship began at a recruitment event at Phi Delta Theta. He offered Ryan a handful of fresh bacon and showed him out to a blazin' bonfire in the back yard. To this day he throws some of the best parties and board game nights around. He and Ryan also share interests in music, whether they're playing it or going out to enjoy it, they're both up for it. They once unexpectedly crossed paths with each other in a parking garage on the way in to the same concert! Fun fact about JA - he'll jump on stage and play backup guitar for your band in emergencies!
Jonathan Sheckels - Groomsman
Sheckels and Ryan also met at Phi Delta Theta. One of Ryan's earliest memories of him is watching in amazement as he danced a perfect reproduction of Michael Jackson's Thriller. In more recent years, he's got Ryan into mountain biking. He even gave Ryan his first mountain bike! The first time they went biking together at DTE Energy trail, newbie Ryan got in way over his head and thought Sheckels might have brought him out there to end him. Fortunately they survived, and Ryan found a great new hobby. Fun fact about Sheckels - just ask him about trains!
Joshua Poisson-Smith - Groomsman
Josh and Ryan have known each other since the early years of grade school when he started attending Haslett schools. Growing up they spent countless hilarity-filled all-nighters together gaming with other friends in one of their basements. As they grew up, those great nights moved from the couch in front of an Xbox to the streets of MSU's East Lansing campus, where Josh would lead expeditions into the furthest unexplored corners of the city. Many of these remain among Ryan's favorite memories from growing up. Fun fact about Josh - he and a few other hometown friends moved across the country to Seattle, WA!
Jim Wobser - Groomsman
Ryan met Jim at Phi Delta Theta too. Among Ryan's first impressions of Jim was, "this guy knows how to have fun", and the sentiment's never changed. Jim was one of a small few that introduced Ryan to the German American Festival, which remains among the most legendary annual friend-trips on Ryan's calendar every fall. More recently, he and Ryan have been getting into the epic table-top game Dungeons and Dragons. They've had a great time testing out new-found game content and leading extended campaigns with friends. Fun fact about Jim - he's a licensed HAM radio operator and scuba diver!
Devon Dewey - Groomsman
Ryan met Devon mid-way through school when he joined Phi Delta Theta. Devon is a handy guy. He's one of those people you can call when you need to know how to do something proper, and (fortunately for Ryan) he's usually able to help. He and Ryan have discovered lots of common interests in motorcycles (another one appeared since I started writing this), mountain biking, the aforementioned board game sessions, and lots more. Fun fact about Devon - he and his girlfriend Kelsey are proud caretakers of their pet birds!
